Students who are researching the environmental problems our world is currently experiencing, such as the BP oil well explosion, global warming, and other events, will benefit from this series. Unfamiliar words are printed in bold type and defined in the glossary for students. Basic historic information is given about the use of fossil fuels and the garnering of such, as well as basic information for students to make their own decisions about what should, and could, be done in the future about pollution and other environmental concerns. Written in a straightforward manner, with photographs that are clearly captioned, the series is a welcome addition for libraries.
